Welcome! June Update

Hello! Welcome to our new website where we hope to be posting the latest and greatest about korfball in the North East. Please bear with us though as this is still a bit of a work in progress. These blog posts will feature things such as regular league updates, area news and upcoming events that we hope you find useful. So without further ado...

Firstly and most importantly, the new committee! Yes after a couple of months of uncertainty we have finally got your NEKA committee for 2019/20. Your Chairperson is Chris Baker who moves up from Secretary. Taking over from him is Laura Baker and the other movement is Rebekah Albiston takes over as Treasurer. Craig Davison will continue on as League Co-ordinator after a successful first season of the NEKL. You'll get to find out a bit more about them in our meet the committee post later on.

We have already been busy beavering away with planning for the new year and some nuggets to share with you so far are:

Saturday 26th October - Referee Theory Course

Sunday 27th October - NEKA tournament and Practical Referee Assessments

w/c 28th October - NEKL kicks off

If you would be interested in taking part in any of these please get in touch with your club rep who can be found by clicking here. Alternatively to enter a team into the tournament or for further details please email nkachairman@gmail.com

Club News: Newcastle University will be having a visit from Dutch side KV Spannum on 10th November and would love to find a referee and a coach to help with what should be a great occasion and all spectators are welcome.

We love to share events that your club have going on or important news so if you have anything to share please tell us!

For those of you maybe reading this and wondering what the hell are we on about check out our What is Korfball? and Clubs pages to find out what we do and where you can get involved! Everyone is welcome regardless of experience or ability.

That's all for now but we will be back with more updates as the summer goes ready for the new season later this year. For those of you who read the Newcastle Uni blog you might be aware I always finish off with an HOWAY THE KORF. However, for fresh beginnings I need a new thing. Send us your best ideas and you never know it might get featured.

Until next time, (COMING SOON)
